Agro News Nigeria is set to host the 2019 edition of its annual Farmers’ Training and sensitization programme, under the flagship name; Farmers’ Town hall & EXPO.

The Farmers’ Town hall is an agric extension initiative of Agro News Nigeria, aimed at educating and enlightening farmers and value chain operators on Good Agricultural Practices, latest farming innovations and products to ensure optimum yield for crops and livestock and to also most importantly sensitize farmers on best practices to achieve pre and post-harvest quality and standards. It is annually scheduled to hold just before the rain fed farming season begins.

The 2019 Farmers’ Town hall is scheduled to hold in the following 2 states of Nassarawa and Kaduna states as follows;

Nassarawa State

Date; April 10th -11th, 2019
Venue: Ibrahim Abacha Youth Centre, Shandan Road,Lafia, Nassarawa State.
Time: 9am to 5pm daily
Focus Crops: Sesame, Cowpea, Rice, Yam, Maize, Groundnut, Cassava

Kaduna State

Date:   14th – 15th May, 2019
Venue: Hamdala Hotel. Muhammadu Buhari Way,Kaduna,Kaduna State
Time: 9am to 5pm daily
Focus Crops: Ginger, Soyabean, Maize, Yam, Tomato, Rice, Groundnut

The 2019 Farmers’ Town Hall & Expo in each state will feature the following;

  • Seminars, workshops and sensitization sessions to farmers on Good Agricultural Practices to ensure optimum yield for selected crops and livestock specific to the geo-political zone and state.
  • Sensitization sessions to farmers on best practices to achieve best quality and standard for focus agro commodities.
  • Agric Insurance, Access to Market Innovations
  • Exhibitions of products, equipment and services from Agro Allied Industry players with products and services that would be helpful to farmers as they enter into the new farming season.
  • Training and Sensitization sessions on GAP by Agricultural research institutions and agencies.
