AfDB/Purdue University conference on agricultural innovations begins today
Today, a large-scale conference on agricultural innovation, launched jointly by the African Development Bank and Purdue University, is starting on the school grounds in West Lafayette, Indiana, United States of America.
The conference, which is due to end on Thursday, will focus on the transition of agricultural innovation from research institutions to the developing world, especially to Africa.
Hundreds of people and organizations will attend an expanded conference on the introduction, dissemination, and implementation of agricultural innovations that can reach millions.
The keynote speaker is the AfDB president, Dr. Akinvumi Adesina and the AfDB initiative on technologies for African agricultural transformation (TAA) will be discussed at the conference.
"This will be the first multi-day conference on this topic, which includes presentations, group discussions, case studies, and discussion group discussions. The conference participants help to understand how to expand agricultural innovation to reach millions. "
"At the College of Agriculture, we are working to develop solutions for real problems, and to find methods for realizing and developing these technologies," said Karen Plaut, dean of the College of Agriculture.
