The ninth annual Ibadan sustainable development summit of CESDEV was held on the 27th to 30th August 2018, at the University of Ibadan.
In his welcome remarks, the Director of CESDEV, Prof Olanrewaju Olaniyan, Highlighted the importance and achievements of the annual event.
In his opening address, the chairman of the occasion, and also the Vice Chancellor of the University of Ibadan, Prof Idowu Olayinka, encouraged participants to apply the knowledge they will acquire during the summit to improve national and global prosperity.
This year’s event has its theme as “Megatrends that will Shape National and Global Prosperity by 2030”.
The second day featured a plenary session with the theme, “Universities as Megatrends that will Shape Prosperity by 2030”. The third day featured Policy Roundtable, with the theme, “Children, Youths and Demographic Dividends”, sponsored by UNFPA.
Parallel/Concurrent sessions were held for paper presentations during the event, of which eminent resource persons were involved.
This year’s summit addressed trends that will impact Prosperity in the short, medium and long terms.
